More detail about the role Are you a Band 5 looking to start your career or further your skills, somewhere with great work life balance? Weve got you. As an adult Speech and Language Therapist with the Royal Devon University Healthcare NHS Foundation Trust - Northern Services (North Devon District Hospital), you will be completing assessment, treatment and advice to adults with communication and swallowing difficulties. Your role will be across general Medical and Surgical wards, Emergency department, and ICU. The post also includes working with our Stroke service which includes Neuro rehab, Acute Stroke and integrated Community Neuro Rehabilitation. Completion of RCSLT NQP competencies and Dysphagia training will be supported. Our service provides instrumental assessment with a weekly videofluoroscopy assessment clinic that you will have the chance to be part of. Additionally, our SLT led FEES service will commence in the near future. Our wider integrated service provides support for acute medical/surgical inpatients, community rehabilitation, adults with learning disability, voice and head and neck outpatient services, with options to shadow specialist clinics to support your career progression and development. New ideas and ways of working are something we embrace and youll have the opportunity to develop the service, education programmes and research as part of your role. Training and development opportunities are in high supply here. We actively encourage CPD and you will have an opportunity to spend time with our range of specialists as part of your CPD. Innovation is central to therapies at the Royal Devon, demonstrated by the implementation of several new initiatives and the development of non-traditional roles in recent years including a Research and Innovation Lead.
