Are you an experienced Occupational Therapist who is passionate about the care of older people accessing community mental health services? Do you want to work in a team that is really supportive, thinks creatively and is always looking to continue to develop to provide the best possible care to our patients and their families? Do you want to work for a leadership that shares your passion for good quality care, and will support you to be the best Occupational Therapist you can be? Then, look no further. We have just the role for you!
We need someone with experience in good quality mental health assessment and interventions and occupational performance assessments, that can deliver these according to the values of our organisation. Mental Health Services Nationally are undergoing significant transformation under the Community Mental Health Framework. This involves the setting up of specific Memory Assessment Services as well as interventions aimed at the older population within an all age Mental Health Together + service, following diagnosis of both functional and memory conditions.
We also encourage innovative ideas around group work and utilising the voluntary sector in supporting service users with activities of daily living and leisure interests in order to better manage their mental health. Your clinical competence and confidence is important to us, but in equal measure with your genuine kindness and compassion for your colleagues and patients; coupled with effective leadership skills that we will expect of you as a senior clinician. We need someone that can support and nurture our less experienced staff, and to work effectively with the multi-disciplinary team.
Come and work with us in the Garden of England where we combine exceptional professional development opportunities with a tremendous quality of life.
We are Kent and Medway NHS and Social Care Partnership Trust (KMPT), providing mental health, learning disability and specialist services, serving 1.8 million people across the county.
The Trust (rated Good overall by the CQC and Outstanding for care) has 3,283 staff working in 66 buildings across 33 locations, covering an area of 1,450 square miles.
You will be joining friendly, passionate colleagues, rich in their diversity, who are committed to providing excellent care to our service users and their loved ones.
The nature of our work attracts kindness and compassion as standard and everyone from our cleaners and porters to the chief executive and chairman are recognised as playing a vital role in providing an exemplary service.
To work effectively as a lead clinician in the Community Mental Health Team for Older People ensuring that patients referred for assessment experience a smooth pathway through the referral, diagnosis and treatment process.
In return, we will offer you a thorough induction programme, an honest and genuine commitment to your career development, regular supervision and appraisal, and 1:1 coaching with a trained coach if you would like it. We will work with you to ensure you are able to work flexibly to balance your home and work life, whilst being able to fulfil your responsibilities to the service.
