Matalan are offering an exciting opportunity to start your career with one of the UK's leading family retailers, based at our Distribution Centres in Knowsley, Merseyside and Corby, Northamptonshire.
As an Apprentice Warehouse Operative, you’ll be joining our diverse team of operatives where you’ll:
process, pick, pack and dispatch online orders to our valued customers.
be a vital part of our Warehouse team, working together and accurately to ensure the delivery of our products in a timely manner.
Learn about the importance of Health & Safety and drive excellent standards throughout our Warehouse.

As an Apprentice you will be completing a Level 2 Warehouse Operative Apprenticeship standard with Inspiro Learning.
You can start an apprenticeship whether you’re starting your career, want a change or you're upskilling in your current job. You can have a previous qualification like a degree and still start an apprenticeship.
As an apprentice you’ll:
have regular one to one sessions with a dedicated trainer either remotely or through visits to your workplace
learn and train for a specific job
get paid and receive holiday leave
get hands-on experience in a real job
study for at least 20% of your working hours
complete assessments during and at the end of your apprenticeship
be on a career path with lots of future potential
What is an apprenticeship?
An apprenticeship is a real job where you learn, gain experience and get paid. You’re an employee with a contract of employment and holiday leave. By the end of an apprenticeship, you'll have the right skills and knowledge needed for your chosen career.

Future Prospects
This is a fixed term contract for at least the length of the apprenticeship programme. There will be an opportunity for the role to become permanent after 6 months on the apprenticeship programme, at this point the shift pattern will change to 4 on 4 off (6am – 6pm) and wage will increase to £13 an hour.
Skills required
Great communication skills, ability to work with pace and accuracy, experience working within a similar fast paced and target driven environment would be beneficial but not essential.
Qualifications required
None required as full training will be given

Team players who are flexible and enthusiastic.
