Crynodeb
The post holder will work in the context of the Objectives of the Pathology Directorate and Blackpool Teaching Hospitals. The post holder will practice without supervision as an Anticoagulation practitioner using the DAWN AC dosing software to provide anticoagulation dosage advice and management within the community clinics. Other duties include being responsible for administration of patient database, updating patient records, safety checks and anticoagulant dosing, ensuring that the performance and reporting is carried out accurately and timely. You will be expected to assist in the development and delivery of a quality patient focused service providing advice and education to our patients. We use DAWN Anticoagulation software and full training will be provided within the department to manage both patients taking warfarin and direct oral inhibitors, DOACS. Obtaining capillary/venous blood samples for analysis. Routine tasks involved in the preparation of equipment and reagents and the correct disposal of clinical waste and sharps. Assist with clinical audit and quality assurance. The post holder is expected to perform his/her duties in accordance with Trust and Directorate Health and Safety at work Policies.
