**Job Description**
We are looking for a female personal care assistant to support an 19-year-old female in Macclesfield, SK11.
This young lady has autism, spinal stenosis, scoliosis & keratoconus which gives her limited vision in her eye. She uses a wheelchair when she is out in the community but does not need this whilst in the home.
She is a laid back, bubbly girl who loves shopping and going out for dinner. She also loves animals so often attends petting farms.
She attends Silky Sunday Disco at her local bowling club and is looking for her PA to become a friend to come along to social activities with her.
**Hours & Pay Rate**
6 hours per week @ £11.90 per hour.
This role will mainly be evenings & weekends due to this young lady attending school on weekdays. However, this can be flexible and will be discussed at interview.
**Main Duties**
This role is for social activities & to become a friend to this young lady.
Types of social activities will include;
Shopping / town trips
Going out of lunch / coffee shops
Visiting petting farms / animal related outings
Possibly attending Silky Sunday Disco some weekends
This young lady would like to make a bucket list of places she would like her & her PA to visit.
No personal care is required, however as she has weak joints you will need to check & help her to pull up her trousers/pants if required when she has been to the toilet. She can do this herself but sometimes just needs some assistance in making sure she has done this properly.
**Personal Assistant Specification**
An enhanced DBS check will be required prior to employment commencing.
You will need a drivers licence due to the nature of the role & preferably need a car that will be big enough to fit the wheelchair in where necessary.
Ideally, you will share similar interests with this young lady & preferably be within the same age range. This is not essential to the role but may help being of similar age due to the type of role & becoming a good friend to this lady.
My assistant must be honest, trustworthy, and reliable, must respect my privacy and always maintain my dignity.
My assistant must be enthusiastic and flexible with a caring disposition & must be able to work well independently.
My personal assistant is accountable to me in all aspects of their work. They should always ask what my needs are and listen to my directions and requests.
Gender is considered to be a genuine occupational requirement in accordance with Paragraph 1 of the schedule 9 of the equality act 2010 for a female worker to work with our client
