Hours: 37.5 hrs per week - all MKUH roles will be considered for flexible working

We are delighted to offer the opportunity for you to join our developing and growing team within the Paediatric and Neonatal Services at Milton Keynes University Hospital.

We are looking for a motivated, enthusiastic, and caring individual who can make a difference to the patients and families within our care. We are looking for someone who is able to model outstanding Neonatal care and is able to promote a positive team work ethic.

This role is part of the Children's Services Triumvirate, and they will work closely with the Divisional Leadership Team to shape the future of Neonatal and Paediatric Services at Milton Keynes University Hospital.

You will be a clinical expert and be able to provide visible, supportive and inclusive leadership to an enthusiastic multi professional teams. You will have excellent communication and well-developed influencing and negotiating skills.

• To act as a highly specialised clinical expert, providing professional leadership, management and clinical presence within the clinical setting.
• Demonstrates clinical credibility and acts as a role model in the delivery of patient care.
• Ensure excellence in caring for patients and their families in line with national, regional and local guidelines and policies.
• Provide senior nursing/midwifery leadership within the CSU triumvirate developing, implementing and evaluating patient pathways.
• Ensure that nursing staff in place is at a safe level and appropriate skill mix for the clinical area/division to deliver optimum care and safety for patients.
• Represent the organisation at Operational Delivery Networks, and regional and national forums.
• Line manage ward/department managers and specialist nursing teams within area of responsibility.
• Contribute to the development and application of the wider governance systems, control processes and risk management to ensure patient safety and learning environment to improve transparency and quality care.
