We are a community of people seeking to follow Jesus, trying to live as God intends, and inviting others to do the same
We’re looking for someone to be the face of the church and act as a community liaison person, linking the church with the local community. We need someone that can encourage discipleship and build on the pastoral care work already being done.
ARE YOU:
• Able to build relationships with those inside and outside the church to encourage more community involvement?
• Able to identify opportunities for you and members of the church to share the good news of Jesus?
• Able to attend worship, building relationships with the church and providing pastoral care to those who come?
• Interested in being involved in baptisms, weddings and funerals and taking communion to those who can’t attend?
DO YOU:
• Have the skills to encourage members as they engage with The Methodist Way of Life?
• Know how to provide opportunities for spiritual nourishment and support?
• Have the skills to help prepare and lead services including Local Arrangements, All Age and Creative Worship services?
• Know how to create opportunities for members to learn and pray together, in both small groups and/or other events?
IS THIS YOU?
We’re an active church with a busy programme of events and activities organised by church members, uniformed organisations and other groups. Located in the city of Gloucester we have a mixed age membership and new housing nearby. We’re a community that understands the importance of discipleship growth and pastoral care, engaging with the community in good times and bad.
INTERESTED?
This is a part time post of 18.5 hours a week with funding available for 3 years and possibly longer. Talk to us about how this could fit into your life – we’re happy to support flexible working
Interviews will take place Wednesday 13 June at Hucclecote Methodist Church
