ABUHB is looking for a passionate and innovative Speech and Language Therapist to join our growing and incredibly supportive SLT and MDT teams working with patients with head and neck cancer related communication and/or swallowing impairments (0.6 WTE) . We also have a vacancy for 0.2 WTE for Critical Care, specifically focussing on instrumental assessments such as FEES or VFS.

Aneurin Bevan University Health Board is a well-respected and renowned for Head and Neck cancer surgery and this post will involve work with patients pre- and post- surgery as both inpatients and outpatients. We are a research active team and contribute to a number of national Clinical Trials. The H&N SLT team benefits from a wide range of bandings including support from a dedicated SLTA. The MDT is collaborative and the contribution of SLT is highly sought after and respected within the team.

The ability to speak Welsh is desirable for this post; English and/or Welsh speakers are equally welcome to apply.

This role will enable you to use your own initiative to meet the different needs of patients, as well as being part of an experienced, specialist, diverse, friendly and supportive Speech and Language Therapy team. The wider team is comprised of SLTs skilled in other medical diagnoses across community and acute settings and we pride ourselves on sharing knowledge between our specialities & working closely as a small team. The post is supported by an 8a Principal SLT in Head and Neck cancer and the team includes band 6 SLTs and Band 4 SLTAs.
