A new and exciting opportunity has risen to join the EOC team as a staff Retention & Wellbeing Coordinator. The EOC is a fast paced, rewarding, and pivotal part of the ambulance service with every patient journey starting with us answering that 999 call and dispatching an ambulance to patients in their time of need.

This excellence can only be achieved by having hard work and dedicated staff to do this. With the recruitment leading the charge of increasing our establishment, this new role will be instrumental in fostering a positive experience for new staff members as they undergo the On-boarding process with the Emergency Operations Centre.

We aim for the EOC to be a place where people want to work, be proud of the work they do and share the vision of exemplary pre-arrival care for the communities we serve. Part of maintaining these strong values of our staff means we need to ensure staff are cared for that we value their health & well-being enough to dedicate time and resources in improving this aspect.

The post holder will need to listen and working with new recruits, offering ongoing support and guidance, ensuring a seamless transition into their respective roles whilst supporting new initiatives to improve these elements, ensure the shared vision and direction is felt by all.



Available Roles
• 1 x Bedford EOC
• 1 x Chelmsford EOC
• 1 x Norwich EOC
• Act as a single point of contact for new starters within their chosen EOC and support them during the Onboarding Process, ensuring they receive ongoing and comprehensive support.
• Offer mentorship and guidance to facilitate a seamless transition and inclusion of new staff members into the EOC.
• Work closely with the Recruitment Team, Training Team and EOC staff to support the wider EOC function.
• Prepare, support and organise staff celebration events across all three EOC sites.
• Support with identifying patterns and trends in relation to staff turnover, sharing ideas for suggested improvements of staff retention.
• Deal with all new starters and staff in a polite, efficient and sympathetic manner, and signpost them to further support where necessary.
• Actively participate in monthly team briefings/meetings and associated workshop/training events, ensuring action points are reflected upon and implemented, as necessary, to continually improve new starter experience and retention.
• Provide a visible and proactive service, developing credibility and trust with a range of stakeholders.
