Summary

Main purpose of the role:

This is a hybrid role, two days working in the office (in Luton - Reasonable commute distance to Luton is required) and three days working from home. University Graduates will also be considered and are welcome to apply.

The primary objective of this role is to support capacity planning activities within the team, employing an analytically driven process to ensure the strategic supply of vehicles aligns with customer demand, optimising revenue, asset utilisation, and cost-effectiveness. As a Capacity Analyst, you will play a pivotal role in maximising revenue and utilisation by actively forecasting, planning, and delivering the fleet required to service demand.

This position requires exceptional commercial awareness and a robust analytical skill set to drive informed decision-making. The successful candidate will ideally have had prior planning and analytical experience, coupled with the ambition and drive to progress within the organisation. Excellent communication skills are essential, as is the ability to confidently make and accept responsibility for decisions impacting the wider business. Moreover, experience using business intelligence/analytics tools to create data visualisations and dashboards would be highly beneficial.

This is a key analytical role within the organisation, with significant responsibility for delivering the right level of capacity for our customers and extensive scope to influence the development of Capacity Management.

Key Tasks & Responsibilities:

  • Forecast and plan future availability and fleet capacity requirements.
  • Ensure forecasting is accurate and strict deadlines are met.
  • Understand demand and supply of car rental vehicles, e.g. reservation trends, fleet supply and historic performance.
  • Propose, implement and assess actions to maximise revenue, combining knowledge of current business performance, market position and demand, resource availability and business channel mix.
  • Respond with clarity and direction when resolving complex tactical and strategic situations as they arise.
  • Contribute directly to the alignment of activities across different departments (Fleet, Operations, Corporate Sales) and to continually apply revenue management practices to improve business profitability.
  • Ensure availability is in line with forecasted volume, RPD and revenue.

Key Skills / Attributes required:

  • Excellent analytical and planning skills.
  • Ability to summarise analysis in a concise manner using different mediums to illustrate key points.
  • Experience in using Power BI and Tableau
  • Experience using business intelligence (BI) tools - (Qlik / Looker / Business Objects)
  • Strong presentation skills to all levels of management.
  • Analytical mindset and a high degree of business acumen.
  • Proven effective stakeholder management.
  • Proficient with Excel and PowerPoint.
  • Attention to detail and organisational / planning skills are a must.
  • Unafraid to make and be responsible for decisions under pressure without supervision.
  • Quick learner, flexible and reactive to a changing environment and role over time.
  • Strong problem solving skills.
  • Ability to prioritise and organise workload effectively to meet tight deadlines and maintain a high standard of work.
  • High level of commercial awareness.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
