Location: Hybrid - Office based in Luton

Hours: Full-time - 37.5 hours per week

Salary: £14.50 - 19.50 per hour

Contract: Temporary 3 month contract with potential to extend


Are you passionate about supporting women affected by domestic abuse?

We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate individual to join our team as a Helpline, Referral & Assessment Officer. This is a pivotal role in supporting women and children who have experienced gender-based violence, helping them access safe accommodation and tailored support services.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Act as the first point of contact for helpline calls and referrals.
  • Conduct initial needs and risk assessments with empathy and professionalism.
  • Manage referrals to internal services including refuge accommodation, outreach, and group support.
  • Keep detailed and secure case records using digital systems.
  • Maintain up-to-date knowledge of available spaces and support resources.
  • Advocate for service users by liaising with partner agencies.
  • Contribute to service development through partnership working and community engagement.
  • Participate in the out-of-hours emergency rota.
We're looking for someone who:
  • Has experience supporting women affected by domestic abuse or other forms of trauma.
  • Demonstrates excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Is confident managing referrals, assessments, and record keeping.
  • Understands safeguarding procedures and information sharing protocols.
  • Can work both independently and as part of a collaborative team.
