Priory Community School – An Academy is Seeking a Dedicated ASD Resource Base Teacher!

At Priory Community School – An Academy, we believe that every child deserves access to quality education tailored to their unique needs. Our ASD Resource Base is a dedicated provision for up to 10 students with Educational Health Care Plans (EHCPS) and provides a nurturing and supportive environment where children with ASD can flourish academically, socially, and emotionally. As a dedicated ASD Resource Base Teacher, you will play a pivotal role in empowering our students to reach their full potential.

What you'll do:

Develop and implement individualised education plans (IEPs) for students with ASD, focusing on their specific strengths and challenges.
Create a supportive and inclusive classroom environment that fosters growth, independence, and self-confidence.
Use evidence-based teaching strategies and interventions to address the diverse learning needs of students with ASD.
Collaborate closely with parents, caregivers, and multidisciplinary teams to ensure a holistic approach to student development.
Provide ongoing support and guidance to classroom staff to promote understanding and effective management of ASD-related behaviours.
Stay current on best practices and research in the field of ASD education, continuously seeking opportunities for professional growth and development.

What you'll bring:

Primary or Secondary Teaching experience with Qualified Teacher Status (QTS).
Proven experience working with children with ASD in a school or clinical setting.
Strong understanding of ASD characteristics, behaviour management techniques, and assistive technologies.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build positive relationships with students, families, and colleagues.
Passion, patience, and a genuine commitment to making a difference in the lives of children with ASD.

This role involves working with children on a daily basis and is therefore in regulated activity.
