Your new company
Our client are a specialist educational business basedin Manchester City Centre, offering opportunities to students of allbackgrounds. They are seeking a Finance Officer to join the team.
Your new role
As the Finance Officer you will be responsible for;
- Efficientimplementation of accounting procedures.
- Checking andprocessing all purchase ledger invoices, expense claims, credit card purchases,petty cash, cheque runs (weekly), and BACS payments (twice per month).
- Raising all invoicesand posting to the Sales Ledger, cash handling, bank reconciliations, digitalVAT returns and year end procedures including accruals and pre-payments.
- Process journals, andhandle all aspects of income and expenditure for two entities
- Assist the FinanceManager with processing the year-end audit, and assist auditors with anyqueries.
- Solely responsible forthe Billing Ledger; creating and updating billing accounts; producing termlybills; distributing to parents, chasing fee payments in a timely manner, andreporting any problems to the manager
What you'll need to succeed
You will have:
- Previous experience in finance or accounting roles
- Experience processing invoices (Sales and Purchase)
- Experience with reconciling bank statements
- Experience in preparing for external audits
- Ability to work independently
