Summary

Student Services provides a comprehensive and confidential support service for students, which includes advising in money, international, academic and disability issues, as well as offering personal and emotional advice via counselling and wellbeing services.

You will work as part of the Disability Team within Student Services supporting prospective and current students with a range of disabilities and long-term medical conditions including specific learning difficulties and mental health issues. You will assess their needs and ensure that they have access to the information, support and adjustments they require to successfully complete their course of studies. You will co-ordinate appropriate support within the University. You will also provide advice, guidance and training on supporting students with disabilities to Academic staff.

An excellent communicator and qualified to degree level you will have experience of assessing and supporting people with a range of disabilities in tertiary education. You will be responsible for providing expert and professional advice on appropriate support. The ability to work flexibly and as part of a multi-disciplinary team is essential.

Applicants with experience in supporting individuals who have specific learning difficulties are particularly encouraged.

This is a part-time post, working 14.5 hours per week (0.4 FTE), on a fixed term contract until 31 August 2025.
