Summary


This is a very exciting opportunity for a highly motivated individual with a passion for quality improvement to join our QI team.

The successful post holder will play a major role in achieving our QI strategy, working across the Trust to implement a culture of continuous improvement.

Working as a key part of the leadership team within Quality Improvement, the post holder will be instrumental in supporting the development of a culture of quality improvement at West London NHS Trust. Drive the delivery of the Trust’s 5-year QI Strategy, promoting continuous quality improvement and providing expertise in improvement methods as required. We require someone who has experience in putting patients first and supporting staff experience, as well as supporting others to explore new ways of looking at, and solving, their problems.

We wish to attract candidates who can evidence their passion and experience of improvement work within a healthcare setting.

The post holder will work closely with the Head of QI to provide leadership and direct line management for identified team members. The Qi manager will be expected on occasion to act as a senior representative on behalf of the Head of QI at internal and external meetings. They will establish strong relationships within the Trust improvement leaders and services lines to support quality improvement.

The Quality Improvement Manager will
• Take a leadership role in the overall development of the QI approach at West London NHS Trust.
• Be responsible for the line management of agreed QI team colleagues, support day to day management of their improvement portfolio and support development of individuals’ skills and knowledge to undertake their team roles.
• Maintain effective relationships with key identified stakeholders, including the wider QI faculty, working with the Head of QI to ensure ongoing programme developments are inclusive and in alignment with trust improvement priorities.
• Proactively work to ensure QI maintains a high profile and overcome challenges as they arise, support the development of the QI communications strategy and identify new opportunities to share and spread learning.
• Support staff at all levels, including senior colleagues in the organisation to reflect and examine current working practices, considering how they can be improved, and challenge and encourage changes to behaviour or practice.
• Work collaboratively with clinical, non-clinical, corporate and managerial colleagues at all levels within the organisation to identify quality improvement opportunities and share and spread opportunities.
• Work with the Head of QI to manage external partnerships and relationships, including development and management of improvement training or projects working across traditional organisational boundaries.
