Summary
Technical Operator
Hours: 40 Hours per week, plus standby duty
Location: Cambridge

The role:
As part of the role, you will work closely with a range of internal and external contacts on a daily basis. You will be responsible for maintaining the control and operation of strategic source water sites and will be required to manage your time effectively to complete a demanding schedule of plant maintenance activities.
Key Responsibilities:
• Implement effective health & safety systems and ensure they are adhered to.
• Responsible for the control and operation of source water sites inline with Regulatory guidelines.
• Develop, implement and maintain adequate procedures, systems, practices and risk assessments.
• Respond to site and equipment breakdowns and safely return plant to supply.
• Ensure production sites are fully available at all times (24/7)
• Responsible for the maintenance on production source sites, including
o WQ Monitor maintenance.
o Chemical stock levels.
o Pump change overs
o Waste discharge
o Chemical dosing installations
o UV Installations
o Treatment processes (nitrate, iron, manganese etc)
o Diesel generator
• Undertake site commissioning.
• Assist production technicians and carry out technical installations. (Electrical, mechanical & chemical)
• Plan and conduct regular 1-2-1 and appraisal meetings.
• Supervise and partake in the cleaning of contact tanks and reservoirs.
• Maintain and promote good housekeeping at all production sites.
Demonstrable experience:
• Technical capability (M&E)
• Knowledge of Chemical handling and dosing systems
• Process experience.
Qualifications required (can be provided):
• IOSH Managing Safely
• EUSR National Water Hygiene Card
• Confined Space
• HV awareness
• Level 3 Controlling Process (NVQ)
• Level 3 Water Treatment Operations (Diploma)
Essential skills:
• Driving Licence
• Supervisory Skills
• I.T. Literate – Intermediate
