Purpose of Role:
- Picking customer orders from a daily pick grid in a safe, efficient and timely manner in accordance with company procedures.
Stock taking duties and loading vehicles is an essential part of the role.
Key Tasks:
- Pick customer orders in a timely and efficient manner as per company procedures, around 30 pallets per shift.
- Ensure all traceability recording is performed on picking grids in accordance with company procedures.
- Perform daily stock takes and share information with Stock Controllers and Shift Supervisors.
- Load customer orders onto haulage vehicles in a safe, timely and efficient manner.
- Liaise with Stock Controllers and Supervisors to correct any anomalies prior to dispatch.
- Physical capability to pick and wrap pallets in a fast-paced environment.
- Operate in line with good housekeeping and maintain the agreed standard.
- Operate fork lift truck and pedestrian riders safely and in accordance with protocol.
- Ensure all on-site health & safety procedures are adhered to, taking into account your responsibilities under:
1. - The Health and Safety at Work Act 1974
2. - The Management of Health and Safety Regulations 1999
3. - Manual Handling Operation Regulations 1992
4. - Lifting Operations and Lifting Equipment Regulations 1998
5. - The Provisions and Use of Work Equipment Regulations 1998
6. - The Personal Protective Equipment at Work Regulations 1992
7. - The Work at Heights Regulations 2005
8. - Any other relevant Health and Safety Executive approved code of practice.
Any other duties that could reasonably be expected as being within the remit of the post.
Person Specification:
- Physically fit.
- Eye for detail.
- Excellent numeracy skills, including mental arithmetic.
- Good communication skills.
- Driving license.
- Forklift license (preferred not essential).
