Daffodil, a distinguished dining and events venue aboard the historic MV Royal Daffodil in Liverpool, is expanding its team. We are currently seeking a skilled Bookkeeper to support our Financial Director in managing our company's finances daily. This role is crucial in maintaining the financial health and efficiency of our operations.



Job Description:

As a Bookkeeper at Daffodil, you will be responsible for maintaining our accountancy systems, processing financial transactions, reconciling transaction data and supporting HR and payroll functions. The ideal candidate will be detail-oriented, proficient in accounting software and have a solid understanding of financial principles relevant to the hospitality sector.



Key Responsibilities:

Maintain and manage daily accounting records.

Process and qualify payments and invoices accurately and in a timely manner.

Reconcile bank statements and transaction data regularly.

Assist in payroll processing and HR-related financial administration.

Monitor and manage subscription services and recurring financial commitments.

Prepare financial reports and statements as required.

Ensure compliance with accounting and financial regulations.

Liaise with external accountants, auditors, and other financial services as needed.

Support budgeting and financial forecasting processes.

Manage expense claims and reimbursement procedures.

Assist in developing and implementing financial policies and procedures to improve efficiency.



Qualifications:

Proven experience as a Bookkeeper, Accountant, or in a similar role.

Strong knowledge of accounting principles and practices, particularly within the hospitality sector.

Proficiency in accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks, Xero, Sage).

Excellent organisational and time-management skills.

Strong numerical and analytical abilities.

Attention to detail and accuracy.

Good communication skills, both written and verbal.

Ability to handle confidential information.

Relevant qualifications in accounting or finance (e.g., AAT, ACCA, CIMA) are desirable but not essential.
