Summary



Job Description:

The Bakery Chef will work under the guidance of the Head Chef of the off-site production kitchen, playing a crucial role in the bakery section. You will be responsible for creating, testing, and producing a range of bakery products that meet the quality and creativity standards of Daffodil. The ideal candidate should have a strong background in bakery and pastry arts, with a passion for innovation and excellence in baking.



Key Responsibilities:

Lead the bakery section of the off-site production kitchen.

Develop and produce a wide range of bakery items, including breads, pastries, pies, and desserts.

Ensure consistent quality and presentation of all bakery products.

Work closely with the Head Chef to align bakery production with Daffodil's culinary concept and standards.

Innovate and test new recipes and bakery products.

Manage inventory and ordering of bakery supplies and ingredients.

Oversee and maintain cleanliness, organisation and safety standards in the bakery area.

Train and mentor junior bakery staff and apprentices.

Coordinate with the Daffodil's main kitchen to ensure timely delivery and optimal freshness of bakery products.

Keep abreast of trends and developments in bakery and pastry arts.



Qualifications:

Proven experience as a Bakery Chef, Pastry Chef, or a similar role in a high-volume bakery or production kitchen.

Strong foundation in baking techniques and pastry arts.

Creative and innovative approach to bakery product development.

Excellent leadership and team management skills.

Strong organisational, time management, and problem-solving abilities.

Knowledge of food safety and hygiene regulations.

Formal culinary training in baking and pastry arts is highly advantageous.
