Our Client:
Is a leading supplier of complex machined components for aerospace OEM and Tier 1 customers around the world. They are a specialist manufacturer of high-complexity components for aero-engine, power generation and air-frame applications. Our client has extensive machining capabilities supported by a highly experienced engineering team and special processes, allowing the company to take on the toughest aerospace engineering challenges.
Your Role:
The main responsibilities will be:
- Responsible for managing, development and introduction of New Products, in a profitable and efficient manner, on time to project parameters.
- Work with Customers to liaise on engineering aspects for products, including creating Non-Conformance to drawing approval requests (Deviation Permit (DP), MVA, Concession etc).
- Manage a team of CAD/CAM and manufacturing engineers to manage new and existing products onto the shopfloor.
- Work with facilities management to make sure CNC systems are suitable and able to produce parts RFT.
- Generate and implement plans for out-of-hours running on specific CNC system.
- Liaising with Customers on engineering issues, especially with customer MEs.
What we are looking for:
Essential:
- Technical expertise in Design & Manufacturing Engineering, with a relevant professional qualification (BSc, BEng, MSc) in Engineering (eg. Aerospace, Mechanical).
- Strong drawing understanding (GD&T, special processes, coating).
- Experience of managing New Product / Process introduction (NPI) industrialisation & existing production process improvements.
- Ability to influence people, build trust and establish effective working relationships within a global organisation.
- Significant experience in Engineering and demonstrated ability in a leadership position with evidence of delivering significant improvements in terms of cost/quality of engineering systems.
- An approachable manner and able to communicate effectively at all levels internally and externally.
- Strong inter personal and relationship building abilities.
- A hands-on approach and 'get it done' attitude.
- Familiarity with CNC systems - 3/4/5 axis Milling, Turning and Grinding.
