We are looking for two committed care workers to provide support to an elderly woman in the Blyth area to allow her to remain independent at home. The woman lives on her own in a ground floor flat.
She has a diagnosis of stage 4 COPD and heart failure and requires support to manage her personal care, meal preparation and general household tasks. The woman previously enjoyed gardening but due to her health in unable to do this anymore.
She would love somebody to help her get outside in the fresh air and enjoy the benefits of others gardening efforts.
The ideal applicants will be:
· Local to the Blyth area due to timings of calls
· Be experienced in supporting individuals – formally or informally
· Be committed, considerate and caring
· Be female due to the personal care involved
They must have:
· A good sense of humour
· The ability to read the situation and adapt accordingly
· A thick skin and have the ability to understand the client's sense of humour
· An interest in soap operas especially Emmerdale (preferred )
Rate of Pay: £13.09 per hour Hours Breakdown:
Monday to Sunday position – to be shared amongst two carers
· AM – 45 minute call at approx 9am
· Tea – 1 hour call at approx 5/5:30pm
· One hour per week enabling time/day to be confirmed
