To provide support for 8 year-old child 2:1
Main Duties:
· Support is required to enable this child to access age-appropriate community and leisure activities. This child enjoys crafts, cooking, visiting the beach, animals – petting zoos, shopping, visiting the Metro Centre and eating out.· Promote independence· Requires monitoring when eating and drinking· Requires a wheelchair for all activities, moving and handling is needed and training will be provided· Training in Epilepsy will be provided but a prior knowledge would be an advantage
Hours:
4hrs per 2:1 (8hrs in total) – you will work 4 hours during shorter half-term holidays – Spring Mid-term February, Mid-term Summer (May) and October.
8hrs per 2:1 (16hrs in total) – you will work 8 hours per week during Summer, Christmas, and Easter.
Rates of pay:£13.09 per hour. Holiday entitlement is 5.6 weeks per year pro-rata.
Out of pocket expenses will be paid by employer, this includes mileage/fuel costs and all monies for activities etc.
Person Specification
The successful applicant must:
· Have experience and a positive understanding about children who have disabilities· Have a high degree of initiative· Be punctual and reliable as the child cannot be left unsupervised.· Be flexible· Have a happy, positive, and caring nature· Respect confidentiality
Applicants must hold a full and clean driving license and be insured for business use.
Full training will be provided with Moving and Handling and Epilepsy.#
The successful candidate will require an Enhanced Certificate of Disclosure (DBS), cost to be met by employer.
