A gentleman in the Blyth area is looking to recruit some carers to support him within the family home.

The gentleman has several health issues but is most restricted by his mobility The gentleman is looking for carers who are easy going and are able to promote his confidence, independence and self-esteem. The gentleman enjoys videos and computers

Hours of work: 5.5.hrs a week
Am and evening call

Days and times to be discussed at interview

Rates of Pay: £13.09 per hour
Location: Blyth area

Main Duties:
To support with some personal care if/when necessary, some light meal preparation, and household tasks, support around medication, pain managing and mental health while helping to reduce the risk of falls. Support to take place in the home the gentleman uses a Zimmer frame to get around the house and a wheelchair for longer distances when out. Also, to be flexible to cover for holidays and sickness leave.

The role requires close personal contact with an individual who is extremely vulnerable to the risk of infection and disease transmission. Preference may be given to applicants who have been fully vaccinated against Covid-19. Careful consideration will be given to applicants who can show the vaccination is not suitable for them on reasonable grounds.

  • Have an outgoing personality
  • Ability to both take instructions and use own initiative
  • Experience in health & social care desirable – experience in working with people with both physical and mental health needs
  • Respect confidentiality is a must

Further Information: An Enhanced Disclosure and Barring Service Certificate (DBS) will have to be obtained for the successful candidate (at employer’s expense).

Training: Where it is required, such as in Health and Safety matters, practical training and guidance will be arranged and the care worker will be expected to attend. This will include moving and handling, medication awareness and additional training specific to the client.
