To provide support for 10 hours per week to promote independence whilst supporting with personal care, washing, dressing and meals.

JOB PURPOSE:

To provide support for 10 hours per week to promote independence whilst supporting with personal care, washing, dressing and meals.

Main Duties and Role: Assist with getting up in the morning and assisting with bedtime routine with personal care, including showering/bathing and help dressing. Support with meals snacks and drinks during the day. Understand the need to manage pain and posture. Monitor health conditions and react to any changes required. Empathise with mental health and well-being and try to promote positivity.

Hours of Work: Two posts of 5 hours each but this can be negotiated at interview:

Must be available to support with 1 hour bathing/showering on a Monday and Thursday morning.

The support required will be 4 calls a day and the employer will be willing to work around you within reason, for example if you have children in school hours.

The rotation of weekend hours is needed; however, this will allow for one weekend off every three weeks.

The employer is open to staff organising this as a team so long as weekends are covered as well as holidays, training or sick leave where this is practicable.

Rate of pay £13.09 per hour.
Holidays are 5.6 weeks per year, pro-rata

Car driver is an advantage but not necessary.

An Enhanced DBS Check is required, and references may be obtained, cost to be met by the Direct Payments Team, Northumberland County Council.

All other expenses to be met by the employer.
