iSteel are looking for a apprentice to join our team. Initially, the apprentice will perform a customer service roll, which will ultimately progress into an estimator / project co-ordinator position within the company, upon the successful completion of the apprenticeship.
Business overview
iSteel (FGWD LTD) is an online steel/glazed partitions and door business, Yorkshire based, we provide a full design, fabrication, supply and installation service of bespoke glass products;
1. Glass Partitions
2. Steel Glazed Fire Screens
3. Steel Bespoke Doors and Screens
4. Shop Front
5. Bespoke items / furniture etc
We service the whole of the UK, working with sub-contract installers based in the north and south of the country with approximately 75% of our business being London based works.
Our office, warehouse and fabrication facility is based in Unit B Glaziers Yard, Chambers Road, Hoyland, Platts Common S74 9SA, and the apprentice will be based at this location;
The day to day duties include;
1. Booking in enquiries.
2. Setting up project files.
3. Chasing up quotes.
4. Estimating small/quick turnaround enquiries .
5. Assisting with ‘pull outs’ (picking of basic materials for small partition projects – this will help a future PM understand the parts/product better).
6. Creating ‘Project Installation Packs’ which our installers need to understand the scope of a project they are to install.
7. Creating ‘Survey Packs’ which our surveyors need to understand the scope of a project they are to measure.
8. Basic 2D CAD elevation drawings of bespoke products to accompany quotations – training will be given in house
Full training will be offered.
Candidates must be eager to learn and ultimately we would like to see the apprentice progress into an estimator / project co-ordinator position.
Qualifications required:
Desirable: Maths and English Grace 4/C or above, or willingness to work towards functional skills in these areas.
Desired skills and personal qualities:
Good Communication
Organisational skills
Able to work as part of a team or on own initiative
Eager to learn
Working Hours: 8.30am-5pm Monday - Friday
Apprenticeship standard: Customer Service Practitioner Level 2
Duration of apprenticeship: 12 months
