Library Services are central to the student and staff experience at Swansea University. We provide excellent customer service, a range of learning environments and easy access to a variety of information and learning resources. The Library Operations Team coordinates access to Library resources, supporting requests services, shelving and stock management. It carries out many of the operations related to the lending of learning resources and backroom functions which support the delivery of frontline services. The post holders will support delivery of customer-focussed services through the day-to-day upkeep of the library environment and associated learning spaces. The responsibilities of this post primarily include: being welcoming and helpful to customers, helping customers to locate resources in the stacks and creating a positive impression of the libraries and associated learning spaces; emptying returns bins and shelving returned stock accurately and efficiently; maintaining collections in correct, classified order; maintaining self-service request shelves; monitoring library and other learning space environments for cleanliness/health and safety; and performing basic checks, cleaning and troubleshooting on equipment and Library facilities.
You will be:
dynamic and able to undertake physically demanding duties such as carrying books, pushing trollies, lifting and moving books and generally being on your feet for much of your shift.

flexible about when and where you work with a positive attitude to change
Service hours vary throughout the year and can range between 8am-8pm seven days per week. The role holder will be required to work a range of shifts to include regular evenings, weekends, and bank holidays across opening hours.
