We are looking for driven and passionate individuals who are rewarded by seeing their patients turn a corner after a demanding journey to recovery, to join our inpatient area; to work on our 8 bedded Female PICU, based at Eden PICU Highcroft.
To work effectively as a member of a team to engage service users in a range of social/recreational and leisure based activities, which reflect the needs of the service user.
• To facilitate and participate in planned and ad hoc group work and individual activities with service users.
• To be able to motivate and negotiate with service users who may be unwilling to participate in activity and to promote the benefits and outcomes that participation could generate, i.e. social interaction, well-being and independence.
• To demonstrate an understanding of clinical risk and apply this in practice.
• To undertake delegated tasks to contribute to the safe and smooth running of the service.
• To form professional relationships with service users who often exhibit challenging behaviour and communicate with them in a way that respects their views, aspirations, autonomy and culture.
• To liase closely with the multi-disciplinary ward team and other clinicians providing feedback on service users’ progress, mental state and any psychosocial factors.
• To adhere to all relevant polices and procedures.
• To respect the individuality, values, cultural and religious diversity of service users, and contribute to the provision of a service sensitive to these needs.
