Driver Hire Edinburgh City is currently seeking Class 2 (Category C) Drivers to join a leading waste and recycling company operating throughout Edinburgh and the surrounding areas.
This is a fantastic opportunity for drivers looking for consistent full-time work, weekly pay, and the chance to secure a permanent position with a reputable employer following a successful temporary period.
Newly qualified (new pass) drivers are encouraged to apply.
Working Hours
Monday to Friday
Early morning starts, typically between 6:00am and 7:00am
Full-time hours available
Overtime opportunities during busy periods
Genuine temp-to-perm opportunity
♻️ The Role
Operating a Class 2 vehicle on planned waste and recycling collection routes
Working alongside loaders as part of a professional collection team
Completing scheduled collections safely and efficiently
Conducting daily vehicle inspections and reporting defects
Completing relevant paperwork and route documentation
Adhering to all health & safety policies and procedures
Delivering a reliable and professional service at all times
Pay Rates
Monday to Friday
PAYE
£14.50 per hour
£19.32 per hour after 8 hours
PAYE Advanced
£16.25 per hour
£21.66 per hour after 8 hours
✅ Benefits
Minimum 8 hours' pay guaranteed per shift
Weekly pay
Overtime opportunities available
Holiday pay accrued (unless PAYE Advanced is selected)

Valid UK Class 2 (Category C) licence
Driver CPC qualification
Digital Tachograph card
Maximum of 9 penalty points
No DD, DR, CD, or IN endorsements

Strong work ethic and willingness to work as part of a team
