Driver Hire Edinburgh City is currently recruiting an experienced and reliable HGV Class 2 Refuse Driver to join a busy and well-established waste management company based in East Lothian.
This is an excellent opportunity for drivers seeking consistent full-time work, weekly pay, and the chance to secure a permanent position with a respected local employer.
Working Hours
Monday to Friday
6:00am start times
Minimum 40 hours per week
Overtime available
Temp to perm opportunities for successful candidates
The Role
Driving a Class 2 refuse collection vehicle on scheduled routes
Working alongside loaders and operational teams
Ensuring collections are completed safely, efficiently, and on time
Carrying out daily vehicle checks and defect reporting
Adhering to all company and health & safety procedures
Pay Rates
PAYE
£14.53 per hour
£21.80 per hour after 8 hours
PAYE Advanced
£16.28 per hour
£24.42 per hour after 8 hours
✅ Minimum 40 hours per week
✅ Weekly pay
✅ Ongoing work with permanent opportunities available
✅ Requirements
Valid UK Class 2 (Category C) licence
Valid Driver CPC qualification
Digital Tachograph card
Previous refuse, waste management, or similar driving experience preferred
Good understanding of health & safety requirements
