Location: Birmingham

Driving: Must be a car driver – the role involves visiting multiple sites across Birmingham
We are seeking an experienced Housing Officer to manage residents living in supported accommodation. Responsibilities include tenancy sustainment, property checks, rent monitoring, support‑plan oversight, safeguarding, and multi‑agency liaison. Applicants must have at least three years’ experience in supported housing, strong knowledge of exempt accommodation and Housing Benefit processes, and confidence working with individuals with complex needs. An Enhanced DBS is essential.
Essential Skills & Experience
Minimum 3 years’ experience in supported housing, homelessness, or complex needs
Strong understanding of exempt accommodation, Housing Benefit, and compliance
Experience with tenancy sustainment, arrears management, and rent monitoring
Ability to complete and review support plans and risk assessments
Confident managing challenging behaviour and maintaining boundaries
Experience working with Probation, Local Authorities, Housing Teams, Health Services
Strong safeguarding knowledge and escalation skills
Excellent record‑keeping, report writing, and digital literacy
Ability to work independently across multiple properties
Availability to work one weekend every month
**Must be a car driver** with access to a vehicle
Enhanced DBS (or willingness to obtain one)
