Crynodeb
Job Purpose
To provide a Retirement Housing Service to tenants living in Maryhill Housing Associations Retirement Housing and contribute to the general housing management service to tenants in the complex.
Establishing friendly relations with all tenants and encourage independence, signposting to other agencies where required. Encourage tenants to participate in decisions which affect them and to advocate and actively promote choice for tenants in their daily living. Working co-operatively with all staff members and to work to all the agreed operational policies of the Association and in line with good practice.
Key responsibilities:
Working as part of a team, the post holder will be responsible for deliver a first-class service to tenants living in the Association’s retirement homes in accordance with the Association’s policies, procedures, SHR guidance and statutory guidance. Providing Retirement Housing Service through enhanced housing management services by carrying out the Association’s agreed operational policies: Establish friendly relations with all tenants, tenants’ relatives and other agencies in relation to enhanced housing management whilst encouraging tenants’ independence and participation in decisions which affect them. To provide onsite cover at other retirement schemes during periods of absence.
Enhanced Housing Management Service
• To respond to queries from the Emergency Alarm Providers (Cordia; Bield etc) during working hours
• To make referrals to Social Work Services for dispersed alarm units (f applicable) or instruct tenants on the use of the various emergency alarm systems available in the scheme – fire alarms, emergency lighting etc and where a referral is made to monitor progress of the referral.
• Developing a delivering a programme of activities designed for residents.
• To make referrals to appropriate agencies for tenants wishing to receive a wellbeing call and monitor progress of the referral.
• To be responsible for regular estate management inspections and follow up work and to refer any concerns to the relevant teams and your line manager to ensure issues are dealt with.
• To report repairs requests on behalf of tenants; liaise with the Property team on repairs and planned maintenance on the scheme.
• To maintain links and effective communication with other housing staff delivering enhanced housing management services to tenants
• To liaise with tenants over access for planned, routine or other housing management or maintenance visits
• To carry out settling in visits to all new retirement housing tenants.
• To refer tenants to the financial support officers and signpost to other agencies as required
• To offer information to tenants wishing to source agencies for furniture, decoration, help at home, etc
• To offer tenants advice on how best to manage at home
• To carry out periodic visits to tenants to ensure they are managing at home
• To provide advice and assistance to tenants about where to access care or support services and adaptations.
• Carrying out communal cleaning/sanitising tasks
• To support the wider organisation with administrative duties and incoming calls when required
• To assist our Community Regeneration Team and others to develop local projects that go beyond the provision and management of housing
Building Tenant Independence & Participation
• To encourage tenants to participate in decisions which affect them.
• To encourage interaction between tenants.
• To assist tenants to organise their own regular social events.
• To liaise with other service providers, particularly home care staff, Occupational Therapists, Social Services and Health departments.
• To compile and maintain information on agencies delivering services to tenants so you can effectively signpost people to them e.g. GPs Social Work Department; Hospitals; voluntary organisations; churches and places of worship.
• To assist in developing a network of locally based volunteers to help tenants arrange and deliver social activities
• To support tenants with the management of the common room
• To carry out all aspects of the service in line with agreed policies and procedures.
General
• To ensure compliance with all Health and Safety requirements
• Any other relevant duties as directed by the Supervisory Housing Officer; Housing Manager or Head of Neighbourhoods & Communities.
• To attend training courses as required by the Supervisory Housing Officer.
• Any other duties which may be required from time to time in line with the needs and objectives of the Association’s business.

required for regulatory and statutory returns and agreeing and implementing actions arising from internal and external audits
