Crynodeb
To provide high-quality care, learning and development opportunities for children in accordance with the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) Framework. The successful candidate will work as part of a team to ensure children are safe, happy, stimulated and supported to reach their full potential.
Main Duties and Responsibilities
Childcare and Learning
Provide a safe, secure and stimulating environment for all children.
Support children's learning and development in line with the EYFS Framework.
Plan and deliver engaging activities that meet individual children's needs and interests.
Observe, assess and record children's progress.
Support children's next steps in learning.
Promote children's independence, confidence and self-esteem.
Encourage positive behaviour through consistent and supportive approaches.
Safeguarding and Welfare
Promote and safeguard the welfare of all children at all times.
Follow all nursery safeguarding policies and procedures.
Report any concerns regarding children's welfare immediately to the Designated Safeguarding Lead (DSL).
Maintain appropriate confidentiality at all times.
Follow health and safety procedures, including risk assessments and accident reporting.
Ensure children are supervised appropriately and ratios are maintained.
Key Person Responsibilities
Act as a Key Person for a group of children.
Build positive relationships with children and their families.
Complete observations, assessments and learning journals.
Monitor children's development and identify any emerging concerns.
Attend and contribute to parent meetings and reviews.
Partnership with Parents
Develop positive and professional relationships with parents and carers.
Share information regarding children's progress and wellbeing.
Support parents in promoting learning and development at home.
Communicate effectively and professionally at all times.
Team Working
Work effectively as part of a nursery team.
Attend staff meetings, training and supervision sessions.
Support colleagues and contribute to a positive working environment.
Follow all nursery policies and procedures.
Maintain professional conduct and appearance.
General Responsibilities
Maintain high standards of hygiene and cleanliness.
Assist with meal times, toileting and personal care routines.
Prepare and maintain learning environments and resources.
Undertake any reasonable duties requested by management.
Promote equality, diversity and inclusion.
Act as a positive role model for children and colleagues.
