Mary Seacole Housing Association (MSHA) is committed to supporting vulnerable individuals experiencing homelessness, trauma, and multiple disadvantage. We deliver trauma-informed, person-centred services that empower people to rebuild stability, independence, and wellbeing.

We are now seeking a passionate and organised RISE & SHINE Coordinator to support the operational delivery of two important accommodation services within Luton’s Rough Sleeping Pathway.

About the Services

RISE

A supported accommodation and assessment service for single homeless men requiring stabilisation, assessment, and support towards sustainable housing outcomes.

SHINE

A women-only immediate-access accommodation and support service for women experiencing rough sleeping, homelessness, trauma, domestic abuse, and multiple disadvantage.

Both services operate using trauma-informed and psychologically informed approaches to support residents with dignity, safety, and compassion.

The Role

The RISE & SHINE Coordinator will play a key role in the day-to-day coordination of accommodation services, supporting residents, maintaining safe environments, and ensuring effective operational delivery across both services.

This is a highly visible, client-facing role requiring someone who is proactive, organised, resilient, and solution-focused.

You will work closely with the Service Manager, Support Workers, external agencies, and residents to ensure services are responsive, safe, and person-centred.

Key Responsibilities

Accommodation & Property Coordination

Support the day-to-day operational management of accommodation services
Monitor repairs, maintenance, health & safety, and property standards
Coordinate room checks, inspections, and occupancy management
Support void turnaround processes and building safety compliance
Resident Support & Engagement

Support residents to settle into accommodation and engage with services
Promote trauma-informed and psychologically informed practice
Assist residents to access housing, healthcare, benefits, and specialist support
Support positive engagement, wellbeing, and independence
Safeguarding & Risk Management

Identify and respond appropriately to safeguarding concerns
Contribute to risk assessments, incident management, and safety planning
Promote a strong safeguarding culture across both services
Operational Coordination

Support rota coordination, communication, and service operations
Maintain accurate records and case management updates
Assist with monitoring occupancy, outcomes, and reporting requirements
Partnership Working

Work collaboratively with outreach teams, health services, housing providers, social care, domestic abuse services, and voluntary organisations
Attend meetings and contribute operational updates where required
About You

We are looking for someone who has:

Experience & Knowledge

Experience within homelessness, supported accommodation, housing, or related services
Experience supporting vulnerable adults with complex needs
Knowledge of safeguarding, trauma-informed practice, and risk management
Understanding of homelessness pathways and supported housing services
Skills & Abilities

Strong organisational and coordination skills
Ability to manage competing priorities in a fast-paced environment
Excellent communication and relationship-building skills
Ability to remain calm and professional in challenging situations
Good record-keeping and reporting skills

Additional Information

This role will involve participation in an on-call rota
An enhanced DBS check will be required due to the nature of the role
