1:1 SEN Teaching Assistant
Location: WF10 (Mainstream Primary School)

Overview:NextGen Teachers are seeking a dedicated and compassionate 1:1 Special Educational Needs (SEN) Teaching Assistant to join a welcoming mainstream primary school in the WF10 area on a supply basis. This is a rewarding opportunity to support an individual pupil with additional needs, helping them to access learning and thrive within the classroom environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide 1:1 support for a pupil with SEN, tailored to their individual needs
- Assist in the delivery of personalised learning plans under the guidance of the class teacher and SENCO
- Support the pupil's academic, social, and emotional development
- Implement behaviour management strategies consistently and effectively
- Foster a safe, inclusive, and engaging learning environment
- Work collaboratively with teaching staff, parents, and external professionals where required
Requirements:
- Previous experience working with children with SEN (e.g. , ASD, ADHD, speech and language needs, or SEMH)
- A patient, empathetic, and proactive approach
- Strong communication and teamwork skills
- Ability to adapt to different classroom environments on a supply basis
- Relevant qualifications (e.g. , CACHE Level 2/3, or equivalent) are desirable but not essential
- The right to work in the UK
- An enhanced DBS on the update service (or willingness to complete one)
- The ability to provide 24 months of professional references
