Our client is seeking to appoint a skilled and reliable Handyperson to join their team asap to provide essential support to clients. This is a hands-on role working in clients’ homes, carrying out both planned and reactive maintenance, minor adaptations, and installation of aids such as grabrails, key safes, and shower seats.
The main works will involve groundworks, including concrete steps, pathways, ramps, walls, and galvanised steel handrails.
Key Responsibilities:
Undertake all aspects of planned and reactive maintenance in client h
Carry out groundworks and fit minor adaptations to meet client needs.
Respond to emergency repair requests promptly.
Maintain accurate records of work completed and materials used.
Order and manage materials in line with policies.
Ensure sites are left clean, safe, and tidy after work is completed.
Maintain company tools and vehicles, performing regular safety checks.
Support and supervise Assistant Handypersons when required.
Work flexibly across different locations, including occasional evenings or weekends.
Follow all health, safety, and safeguarding procedures at all times.
Essential Requirements:
Full current UK driving licence (maximum three penalty points).
1+ year of handyperson experience or skilled trade experience in construction.
Time-served tradesperson, completed apprenticeship, or equivalent (NVQ/City & Guilds).
Strong problem-solving skills and ability to work independently in a busy environment.
Experience in plumbing, electrical, decorating, or general building repairs.
Good verbal communication skills and ability to work with clients and as part of a team.
Willingness to work flexible hours, including occasional evenings or weekends.
Desirable:
Ability to speak Welsh.
NVQ Level 2 in Built Environment or equivalent.
Additional Requirements:
Enhanced Disclosure & Barring Service (DBS) check required.
Own transport for work purposes.
Hours: Full-time (37 hours per week, with occasional outside hours to cover emergency repairs)
Salary: £28,670 per annum
