Digital Project Manager

12 month FTC

£49,282.00 - £53,460.00 pa


Your role:

Greater Manchester Combined Authority (GMCA) are seeking a Digital Project Manager, on a 12 month fixed term contract basis.

You will be responsible for managing complex ICT and transformational projects, working extensively with colleagues across departments and with external organisations and suppliers.

You will be joining an award winning digital service that is enabling GM Fire & Rescue to one of the best performing services in the country, and supporting the reform of public services across Greater Manchester in line with the Greater Manchester Strategy.

The post holder will take direct responsibility for the successful delivery of all project elements, ensuring deadlines and objectives are met to agreed levels of time, budget and quality.

This is an experienced project manager role and there is an expectation that the post holder will manage projects with a significant degree of autonomy but will escalate to the Senior Project Manager where necessary.

The post holder will:

Define the scope of projects and initiatives
Ensure deadlines are understood and adhered to
Ensure objectives are clearly articulated and understood
Apply appropriate project management methodologies
Develop and maintain effective relationships with senior officers
Produce project documents as appropriate
Develop and manage project risk and issue logs - monitoring, updating and reporting progress against these
Motivate and develop team members, leading by example and identify and agree training and development needs as required


The Digital Services team manage and support the Greater Manchester Combined Authority’s ICT architecture.

We:
Lead the Digital, Data and Technology function and strategy for GMCA
Set and enforce standards for digital services including considerations of data security
Help the business to choose the right solution and technology, keeping the context of partnership in mind
Provide guidance and advice for consistent, coherent, high quality digital services
Support North West Fire Control who provide a service to GMFRS as well as Cheshire, Lancashire and Cumbria

About you:

You will:
Have expertise of delivering complex Digital transformation projects
Be comfortable working within structured project management methodologies including Waterfall and Agile
Have well developed communication skills to influence and offer persuasive arguments with both internal and external stakeholders
Have proven ability to motivate project teams to successful outcomes
Have excellent report writing and presentation skills
Be educated to at least degree level
Have a personal commitment to continuous self-development and service improvement
