This part-time school receptionist role offers the opportunity to join a well‑organised and welcoming school environment where clear routines and positive relationships are central to daily life. As the first point of contact for visitors, parents, and pupils, the Part-Time School Receptionist plays a vital role in supporting the smooth running of the school and maintaining a professional, friendly atmosphere.

Duties as Part-Time School Receptionist:

  • Act as the first point of contact for visitors, parents, and staff
  • Manage the school reception area, ensuring a welcoming and professional environment
  • Answer telephone calls and handle enquiries efficiently and courteously
  • Maintain accurate records, including visitor logs and pupil sign‑in systems
  • Support administrative tasks such as filing, data entry, and correspondence
  • Assist with attendance‑related administration where required
  • Support safeguarding procedures, including visitor checks and protocols
  • Work collaboratively with office staff and senior leaders to support daily operations

Ideal Part-Time School Receptionist:

  • Previous experience working in a school or busy reception environment
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Calm, organised, and professional approach to work
  • Confidence using administrative systems and Microsoft Office applications
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks while maintaining attention to detail
  • Understanding of safeguarding and confidentiality requirements
