Pay support officer required for admin and clerical duties.
Input data direct into ESR and to support and assist payroll officers to ensure completion of payroll for the Trust
We are looking for an ambitious person to join the Payroll team, you will receive training and support to provide admin and clerical support to the Payroll Team. The post holder will input payroll and expense data, deal with enquiries from staff and managers and input payroll data directly into ESR.
This is a mixed role with lots of different processes and you will be supported with all the training. This is a flexible role where you can mix working from home and in the office.

1. To enter information provided to Payroll with regards to any temporary or permanent changes.
2. The checking and payment of expense claims in accordance with NHS terms and conditions and statutory regulations.
3. To help produce the production of a payroll and to provide cover for the payroll team during periods of absence, including planning and organisation of tasks to ensure all deadlines are met.
4. To respond and answer queries from staff and managers where there maybe barriers to understanding, and where tact may be required.
5. Use Excel spreadsheets and database skills to download into, format and analyse financial data. Reviewing and checking accuracy of the input and output both prior to and after the production of Payroll.
6. To be responsible for the completion of routine enquiries from third parties and other government bodies.
7. To report any discrepancies, unusual features or queries to the appropriate person ensuring fraud protection.
8. To be willing to assist with complex and sensitive financial queries eg Afc changes, personal pay and conditions, from staff and non-financial managers, other internal bodies and external organisations and to advise where necessary recommended solutions.
