CAD Technician
Location: Dewsbury, West Yorkshire
Job Type: Permanent – Full Time
Hours: 08:00–16:00, Monday to Friday
Salary: Up to £35,000 per annum (dependent on experience)
Our client is a fast-growing dust & fume extraction company based in Dewsbury, West Yorkshire. As a forward-thinking organisation with a steadily expanding customer base, they are now looking to recruit a CAD Technician due to retirement within the team.
The Role
The CAD Technician is responsible for producing accurate technical drawings for live contracts, using information from site surveys and contract documentation. This role supports both the contracts and installation teams by ensuring drawings are clear, buildable, and issued on time.
This is a practical, detail-driven role, working closely with Contracts Engineers and Installation teams.
Key Responsibilities
• Produce contract and installation drawings using AutoCAD
• Convert site survey information into accurate, buildable drawings
• Update drawings to reflect revisions, site changes, and client feedback
• Ensure drawings are issued in line with contract programmes
• Work closely with Contracts Engineers and site teams
• Maintain accurate version control of all drawings
• Issue drawings in line with the company document control procedures
• Ensure superseded drawings are withdrawn from use
• Keep clear records for audit and contract tracking
• Use company systems to store and retrieve drawings
Requirements
Essential
• Previous experience in a draughting / CAD role
• Strong working knowledge of AutoCAD 2D
• Excellent attention to detail
• Ability to interpret site survey information and specifications
• Good communication skills
• Organised with the ability to manage multiple live projects
Desirable Skills
• Experience in ductwork, ventilation, or mechanical services
• Understanding of installation and fabrication processes
• Experience working within contracts or project environments
