MadiganGill are looking for Experienced Contracts Managers based in and around Northampton on behalf of our client.

Role Overview
The Contracts Manager is responsible for overseeing multiple residential construction sites, ensuring projects are delivered safely, on programme, within budget, and to the required quality standards. This role provides strategic leadership to site teams while coordinating commercial, technical, and operational functions across several developments.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage a portfolio of housing developments from pre-construction through to completion
  • Lead and support Site Managers to ensure consistent performance across all sites
  • Ensure compliance with health & safety legislation and company policies
  • Monitor construction programmes and implement corrective actions where required
  • Oversee quality assurance processes and ensure adherence to NHBC standards
  • Work closely with commercial teams to manage costs, budgets, and procurement
  • Liaise with clients, local authorities, consultants, and inspectors
  • Conduct regular site visits, audits, and performance reviews
  • Report on project progress, risks, and financial performance to senior leadership

Requirements

  • Extensive experience in residential construction, ideally with a volume housebuilder
  • Proven track record in managing multiple sites or large-scale developments
  • Strong understanding of UK building regulations, NHBC requirements, and H&S legislation
  • Excellent leadership, organisational, and decision-making skills
  • Relevant qualifications (e.g., SMSTS, CSCS; NVQ Level 6/7 or equivalent desirable)
