Temp to Perm | Up to £20.00 per hour | Full-Time
Role Overview
We are recruiting for an experienced and motivated Deputy Manager to join a residential children’s service in Oxfordshire on a temp-to-perm basis.
This is an excellent opportunity for a Senior Residential Support Worker or experienced practitioner ready to step into a leadership role, supporting children and young people with autism and learning differences in a safe, nurturing environment.
You will play a key role in supporting the Registered Manager with the day-to-day running of the home, ensuring high standards of care, safeguarding, and positive outcomes for young people.
Key Responsibilities
• Support the Registered Manager in the day-to-day management of the service
• Lead shifts and provide guidance and supervision to staff
• Deliver high-quality, person-centred care and support
• Ensure care plans, risk assessments, and safeguarding procedures are followed
• Support children and young people with daily routines, independence, and life skills
• Contribute to staff development, mentoring, and team performance
• Maintain accurate records and ensure compliance with regulatory standards
• Promote a safe, stable, and positive environment for young people
What We’re Looking For
• Experience working in residential childcare or similar settings
• Previous senior or leadership experience (or ready to step up)
• Understanding of autism, learning differences, and complex needs
• Strong knowledge of safeguarding and child protection
• A calm, resilient, and supportive leadership style
• Flexibility to work full-time shifts, including evenings, weekends, and sleep-ins
• Level 3 qualification (or working towards) in Children & Young People (desirable)
• DBS on the Update Service or willingness to obtain one
