This is a unique opportunity for an experienced chef who wants work–life balance without stepping away from the craft they love.
Why is this role different?This isn’t your standard hospitality role. You’ll be part of a highly respected culinary team within the Judicial sector, helping to deliver nutritious meals while contributing to a purposeful environment. And with shifts between 7am–7pm on weekends, your evenings are finally yours — a rarity in hospitality.
You’ll work as part of a skilled and supportive kitchen team, preparing and producing meals for residents three times a day. You’ll also supervise and support enhanced residents working in the kitchen – helping them learn new skills and ensuring a smooth, safe operation.
Please note: For sector compliance, you must have lived in the UK for the past 5 years, hold the legal right to work, and be able to pass full security vetting and DBS checks.

- Preparing and cooking quality food from a set pre-ordered menu
- Collaborating with prisoner workforces, guiding, and supporting them in culinary tasks
- Ensuring food is produced efficiently and in line with recipe sheets
- Completing kitchen paperwork and due diligence
- Maintaining high standards of hygiene and cleanliness
- Being an effective team player with the confidence to manage conflict if needed
- Participating in ongoing training.
What we're looking for:
- Residency in the UK for the past 5 years and legal right to work
- The ability to pass full security vetting and DBS checks
