Job Title: Business Support Officer - Services for Young People
Starting Salary: £25,583 opportunity to progress to £28,142 per annum (pro rata for part time)
Hours:  18.5 hours
Location: Stevenage
Contract Type: Permanent
Directorate: Resources

About the team

This is a client facing role primarily located at our Stevenage Young People’s Centre, with occasional travel to other Young People’s Centre's across the North Herts and Stevenage area, therefore the ability to travel is essential.

Our Business Support Service is a centralised unit which has been formed to deliver a co-ordinated, consistent, and high-quality service supporting service delivery across the organisation. Business Supportis critical to ensuring our departments cansupportservices to our residents, and if you have great administrative skills and a strong customer focus, you could be part of it.

About the role

You will provide vital administrative and front-of-house support, acting as a first point of contact for visitors and callers. Your responsibilities will include preparing and sending correspondence, taking minutes, answering and directing incoming calls, ordering supplies, and supporting visitors to the site.

About you

Essential:

  • You will be used to working to tight deadlines and with high accuracy in written correspondence.
  • Excellent organisational and multitasking skills
  • Strong communication skill abilities
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Packages, Word, Excel.
  • Experience in working as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
  • Ability to plan own work over short timescales for routine or familiar tasks and processes and use your initiative to work independently.
  • GCSE or Vocational equivalent, strong numeracy, and literacy skills.
  • Enthusiasm and pride in your work are qualities we welcome.

Desirable:

  • Experience in minute or note taking
    • Proven experience in an administrative orsupportrole
