Senior Premises Officer
Salary: £32,000 - £36,000 depending on experience
Position: Full-time 11am – 7pm Monday - Friday
Rokeby School, a highly regarded Surrey independent prep school, is looking for an experienced individual to join our busy premises team. You will assist the Premises Manager to ensure the school site and facilities are maintained to a high standard and are safe for staff, boys and external visitors. You will manage the outsourced cleaning contract, assist the Premises Manager in overseeing contractors and deputise in his absence. Health and Safety checks, managing supplies and completing equipment inventory form part of this role as well as operating the school’s premises systems including heating, lighting, fire detection, alarms and gates. Being a keyholder, you will also lock up the school at the end of each day. There will be a requirement to drive the minibuses on an occasional basis, training will be provided.
The successful applicant must be able to work 11am to 7pm Monday to Friday, with occasional weekends and late evenings to support key school events. Ideally, you will have an NVQ Level 3 or equivalent in a relevant trade and previous experience of general DIY and cleaning within a school or commercial site. A proactive approach, excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to work with minimal supervision are essential, as are strong organisational, administration and ICT skills. Previous experience of working in a school is not essential, however, a full clean driver’s licence is required.
