This will involve performing routine cleaning tasks such as cleaning, re-stocking and using our till systems. It is expected our Retail Assistants will take pride in their work, enjoy working as part of a team as well as under their own initiative, and thrive in a busy, hands-on environment.
This is a seasonal role working 30 hours per week.
Your weekly shifts would be:

• Sunday 10.30am – 5.00pm
Key Responsibilities:
• Serving customers (mainly school age children) in our on-site shop in the manor house (you are not expected to work in the bar).
• Regularly clean and re-stock our gift shop and bar.
• Physical tasks such as putting away deliveries, lifting and moving sometimes heavy boxes of drinks and merchandise.
• Being on your feet for a large part of the day, including using stairs.
• Handling money including cashing-up your own till.
• Performing monthly stock checks.
• Ensuring all health and safety procedures are effectively adhered to.
Teamwork & Guest Experience
• Work efficiently during the season, including our busy peak-season periods.
• Support other departments when required to ensure smooth operation across the site.
• Contribute to creating a welcoming and positive environment for all guests.
Essential Skills & Experience
• Excellent attention to detail and pride in maintaining high standards.
• Able to work both independently and as part of a team.
• Reliable, responsible, and willing to learn new skills.
• Comfortable working in a fast-paced, physically active role.
• Previous experience in retail and/or customer service is desirable but not essential.
• This role is open to those aged 18 year and over.
The recruitment process
• Once we receive your application, you will be contacted by one of our team regarding the next steps.
• These roles involve working with children and we follow safer recruiting practices. We are required to obtain references and a Basic or Enhanced DBS check prior to employment (we cover the cost and organise it for you). You will be required to provide referee details and a selection of ID documents such as a Passport or Full Birth Certificate.
