- Deliver infrastructure upgrades, lifecycle replacements, and configuration changes in line with established change control processes.
- Contribute to infrastructure modernisation projects, including server refresh programmes, network improvements, virtual host upgrades, and storage migration.
- Produce and maintain clear technical documentation, system diagrams, and operational procedures.
- Act as a technical escalation point for complex infrastructure issues.
- Investigate and resolve incidents related to servers, networks, storage, and cloud services, ensuring minimal business disruption.
- Perform root cause analysis and implement long-term remedial actions to improve service resilience.
- Ensure systems comply with ISO 27001, Cyber Essentials Plus, and internal governance requirements.
- Support vulnerability management, patching, secure configuration standards, and endpoint/server security controls.
- Assist with internal and external audits, including evidence gathering and documentation updates.
What we’re looking for:
- Hands-on experience managing Windows Server and Linux (e.g., Ubuntu, Debian) in a hybrid or multi-site environment.
- Strong understanding of:
- Virtualisation (e.g.VMware/Hyper V)
- Networking fundamentals (switching, VLANs, routing, firewalls)
- Enterprise storage (SAN/NAS)
- Backup/recovery technologies
- Experience with Microsoft 365, Azure AD/Entra ID, and cloud-integrated identity services.
- Proven ability to diagnose and resolve complex technical issues.
- Excellent documentation, communication, and problem-solving skills.
What’s in it for you?
- 25 days’ holiday (rising to 29) with the opportunity to buy & sell extra leave.
- Funded ITIL Level 5 Qualification

- Voluntary benefits designed to suit your lifestyle – from discounts on retail and socialising, to health & wellbeing, travel and technology
- Fera operates a LTIP ( Long Term Incentive Plan) under which all employees are awarded points towards shares in the Employee Benefits Trust on an annual basis. The Employee Benefits Trust holds shares on behalf of our employee, at the point of an equity event the shares will realise a cash value.
