What We’re Looking For A confident communicator with a friendly, patient, and professional attitude. Someone who can handle a fast-paced, demanding environment with ease. Prior experience in healthcare or administrative roles is desirable, but not essential. Full training will be provided. Key Responsibilities Welcoming patients and visitors, managing check-ins, and providing appointment information. Answering phone calls and handling patient inquiries with empathy and professionalism. Scheduling and managing appointments using our system. Processing prescription requests from patients and pharmacies. Handling patient queries in person, over the phone, and via email. Managing incoming and outgoing correspondence, including emails and letters, with accuracy. Keeping the reception area tidy and ensuring smooth handovers for colleagues. Completing administrative tasks such as patient registrations and updates. Location: Minehead Medical Centre, 2 Irnham Road, Minehead, TA24 5DL System used: EMIS Why join us? It is the only GP service in the area. The other two GP surgeries are located much further out on the outskirts. The patient list size is 12,330 with a slightly higher number of ageing population when compared to the rest of Somerset. In recent years, Minehead Medical Centre has undergone refurbishment works to provide additional clinical rooms on the ground floor. Supported by the larger Group, Minehead Medical Centre delivers excellent care to the patients and communities around Minehead. The Medical Centre is a central hub in the town, with a team as close-knit as the rest of Minehead’s population.
