Grounds Maintenance Operative
Location: North Denbighshire
Pay Rate: £14.13 per hour
Hours: Monday to Thursday 8:00am – 4:00pm, Friday 8:00am – 3:30pm
No weekend work

We are currently recruiting for a Grounds Maintenance Operative to join the Street Scene team based out of the Rhyl Depot. This is a great opportunity to become part of a dedicated team responsible for maintaining and improving public spaces across Denbighshire.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Travelling to various sites across Denbighshire
  • Operating ride-on mowers to maintain grassed areas
  • Using strimmers, hedge cutters, and pedestrian mowers
  • General grounds maintenance including grass cutting, hedge trimming, and pruning
  • Litter picking and ensuring public areas are clean and presentable
  • Assisting with planting, landscaping, and seasonal work
  • Basic maintenance of tools and equipment
  • Adhering to health & safety procedures at all times
  • Supporting other Street Scene duties as required (e.g. leaf clearance, weed control)
    The Ideal Candidate Will:
    • Hold a full UK driving licence
    • Have previous experience in grounds maintenance or a similar outdoor role
    • Be comfortable working outdoors in all weather conditions
    • Be reliable, punctual, and able to work as part of a team
    • Have a good understanding of health & safety practices
      Desirable Qualifications / Tickets:
      • Ride-on mower certification
      • PA1 & PA6 (pesticide application licences)
      • Brushcutter / strimmer certification (e.g. NPTC/LANTRA)
      • Trailer towing licence (B+E)
