The sign of a good business is how they treat staff and that is the case with this 5* housebuilder who’re looking to add a Senior Development Engineer to their successful and Award-Winning business. Over the last 18 months, there’s been numerous internal promotions that has seen many long-standing staff stepping up to Senior positions. If you can build your career with a family firm that still holds true to their values, why would you look anywhere else?
And that could be the case with this Senior Development Engineer role. If you are looking to progress, there’s a potential here. Their Engineering Manager has stepped down so you’d join another Senior Development Engineer who’s done fantastically since joining a year ago which is also testament to how well this firm treats you. The Technical Director said he’d prefer to promote from within so around 18 months from now you could be in the running. Or you could be looking to step into the Senior role, too.
They’ve got a lot on this year – “we’re in a very stable position and it looks very positive for the rest of 2026” said their HR Director – with several sites coming online in the Cheshire and North Wales area and with the business in a top spot compared to other housebuilders out there. They have a five-year plan to get up to around 650 units and you’d join the business by working on an initial three sites which should be easy pickings for a Senior Development Engineer.
Another plus as they have an in-house Utility and Services Manager so that won’t be on your plate. They’d like you to be Autocad savvy but you’ll not be doing much up-front – there’s another team for that. Which means you’ll be out on site and doing what every Engineer wants – getting stuck in – they reckon the office to site split is 50/50.
And they’ll pay you really well for that, too. I’ve got a salary banding of £60,000 to £65,000 plus a raft of excellent benefits for the right person. Their package has always been up there and exceeding some of the PLC businesses operating within housebuild so you’ll be paid just as well but without that external pressure that those businesses can bring.
You’ll join a family firm that still holds true to their family values and you’ll be based around sites in and around the Wirral, Cheshire and Wrexham areas with the construction team having around 75 years’ experience working within this business – what did I say about their excellent retention?
