Job Title: Teaching Assistant
Role Overview
We are seeking a Teaching Assistant to support teaching staff and help students access learning. The role involves providing classroom support, assisting individuals and small groups, and promoting student engagement.
Key Responsibilities
Support students during lessons and learning activities
Assist the teacher with preparation of resources and materials
Provide one-to-one or small group support where required
Support students with additional learning needs
Encourage positive behaviour and engagement in learning
Help monitor student progress and participation
Provide pastoral support where appropriate
Maintain a safe and inclusive learning environment
Follow safeguarding and behaviour procedures
Essential Criteria
Experience working with children or young people
Good communication and interpersonal skills
Ability to support students with different learning needs
Patient, supportive, and approachable manner
Ability to work as part of a team
Commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people
Desirable Criteria
Previous experience as a Teaching Assistant
Experience supporting students with SEN
Basic understanding of safeguarding procedures
Relevant qualification in education or childcare
Safeguarding Statement
This role involves working closely with children and young people. The successful candidate will be required to complete safer recruitment checks, including an enhanced DBS check and satisfactory references.
